Click here to see if you are eligible to change your driver's license address on line.  If you are not eligible to renew your license online, you can submit this form or apply in person at a DPS officePlease note: If you hold a Commercial Driver License, all transactions must be completed in person at a Texas Driver License office.

DRIVING HANDBOOK

Click here for a copy of the Texas Driver’s Handbook.  This Handbook is maintained by the Texas Department of Public Transportation with two goals in mind (1) to help the reader qualify for a Texas Driver License; and, (2) to help the reader become a safer driver.  The handbook is not intended to be an official legal reference to Texas traffic laws.

Click here for a copy of the Texas Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver’s Handbook.  This Handbook is maintained by the Texas Department of Public Transportation to assist commercial driver in passing the required knowledge and skills tests.  Although comprehensive, this handbook was not designed to be an exact reference to the Texas Commercial Driver License Law.

FAILURE TO APPEAR / OMNI HOLDS

Click here to access the OmniBase Services of Texas for the Failure to Appear/Failure to Pay Program.  This website is maintained by the Texas Department of Public Safety's and contains information on violators who have been reported by Texas cities and counties for filing to appear for traffic citations. In order to access your information, you will need your Texas driver license number and your date of birth.  Please note: not all cities and counties use this system.   If you do not appear in the system that does not mean that you do not have any outstanding citations / warrants. 

INSURANCE

Click here to compare insurance rates from Texas providers.  This website is maintained by the Texas Department of Insurance and Office of Public Insurance Counsel to help Texans with their auto, commercial and residential property insurance needs.

Click here if you have been denied insurance coverage by insurance companies.  This website is maintained by the the Texas Automobile Insurance Plan Association (TAIPA) and provides information about a state program to provide insurance coverage to Texas drivers who have been denied coverage by at least two insures in the last 60 days.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION

Click here to renew your vehicle registration online.  This website will only allow you to renew your registration if the registration is current and is within 90 days of expiring.  If your registration has already expired, you must visit your county tax office in person.
